These later portraits use plywood as the substrate; this shift enabled the exploration and incorporation of a street art aesthetic, whilst referencing other artists, as well as my own practice. This portrait of Yinka Shonibare MBE evolved into an interactive five-panel puzzle piece – combining collage, QR Codes and animation – thus enabling viewer participation. The collage-on-ply QR code artworks below measure 550mm x 550mm and, in physical reality, they function from a distance of up to 8 metres. If the viewer scans the QR code with a QR Code Reader, the portrait appears on the viewer’s phone and shifts and morphs. These works were shown at the START Art Fair (2016) at the Saatchi Gallery, London, UK
